The University of Trieste is an academic Institution devoted to high level education and research. The Department of Engineering and Architecture, among the others, develops research in maritime engineering, hydroacoustics and fluid mechanics in general. Also the University offers PhD programs dedicated to research topics of interest for the marine technologies. The research group IEfluids, is involved in European Research projects, in hydroacoustics finalized to the mitigation of noise propagated at sea. Also, it is involved in the analysis of the performance of wind turbines and related noise. The research group is also involved in the study of cavitation in fluids as noise generator in marine applications.
