FOR-MAR is a Vocational Training Centre for Fisheries and Sea and a Blue Hub School in Portugal responsible for training and certifying professionals working in Sea related industries, mostly in regulated professions. As a Vocational Training Centre, FOR-MAR carries out a wide variety of training courses, providing professional proficiency that is required by the main international Conventions subscribed by the Portuguese State, namely the Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping Convention (STCW). Consultancy and training design are core activities undertaken by FOR-MAR, who is an active member of a network of entities involving public and private sectors connected with the industry, economy, environment, science/education/training and society in general, not forgetting an effective social intervention in fishing communities, both nationally and transnationally.
